I thought that hearing the readers made the poem really come to life. I liked it before that, but it was easier to understand when it was being heard. Like one of my peers (I'm not quite sure who said it now) I wondered if Eliot meant for the poem to be read. Even if it wasn't what he intended, the natural cadence of the poem makes it beautiful to hear.
